Ballerinas
Women’s ball erinas are often defined as flat sole court shoes. Their origins, true to their name, go back to the artistic world of ballet and dance. The first women’s ballerinas appeared as early as the 18th century, but was quickly supplanted by pointe shoes, still used by ballerinas today. How did this very specialized footwear find its way “into the salons”? All thanks to dancers performing on Broadway, who gave their dance shoes to the Capezio shoemaker’s shop. Its owner, inspired by the distinctive form of ballerinas, began to sew more utilitarian versions of them. Thus, women’s ball erinas quickly gained popularity and caught the eye of the biggest fashion designers.
The real breakthrough came in the 1960s – it was then, thanks to cinema icon Brigitte Bardot, that ballerina shoes hit not only the screens, but also the collective consciousness. Ballerinas, which were worn by the actress in the cult film “And God Created Woman”, every fashionable lady wanted to have! This is how a legend was born in the shoe world!
Women’s ballerinas – choose them to suit your style
After several decades, ballerinas have become one of the most popular shoe styles for women: comfortable on the one hand, on the other – elegant and very versatile. Today they are available in many versions. Pay attention, for example, to:
- platform ballerinas – a great alternative to pumps. Such shoes look great in combination with a summer dress or skirt in boho style,
- ballerina sneakers – that is, women’s ballerinas in a more sporty edition. Wear them with jeans, shorts or leggings to create an interesting styling
- elegant ballerinas for women on a thicker sole – perfect for the office or for more formal outings.
